How I hate banks!
I managed to get locked out of a joint account today whilst attempting to log in to on line banking - admittedly to an account that lies dormant for long periods. Dormant it may be but I am one hundred per cent certain that last time I worked in it, three months or so ago, the password DEFINITELY WORKED! Now it doesn't and the voice on the help line was not as helpful as she might have been. She could not definitely ID me, she said and so she could only suggest that I pop along to the local branch with a driving license. I felt a bit like one of those unfortunate international travelers on `Border Security' who are cheerfully told their visa for visiting Australia is not going to be granted and they need to pop back to Sri Lanka or Bulgaria.

What a gigantic waste of time.....!!!!
What a waste of time indeed. I have spent the entire day trying to locate email files I inadvertently `lost' in some mysterious manner whilst having a springclean.

Book Cover Almost Completed.....
The cover for my new book Eight Ten To Charing Cross, or The Delusions & Daydreams of a 1950s Teenager, is now almost complete via Jeremy Taylor Design. I feel quite pleased with it - hope the text does it justice.

Title - decisions, decisions, decisions
I have now almost settled upon 8.10 To Charing Cross or even Eight Ten To Charing Cross though somehow I think the former. I have an image in mind of a quaintly yester-year commuter train flying out of the then (and possibly still) quaintly rustic Gravesend Central Station, heading for the bright lights and excitement of London itself only twenty miles up the tracks. I now wait impatiently for a reply from Jeremy the Cover Man.

Hard Labour
Well today, I told myself, was going to be the day when I rejoined Facebook and tackled Twitter and once again began to take advantage of all that lovely social interaction - not to mention enjoy the undoubted value of another platform for publicizing my writing. It should be easy, everyone tells me so, and I even have a book which is helpfully titled `Facebook & Twitter For Seniors For Dummies' to help if I got stuck. I got stuck immediately of course and then inexplicably seemed to give myself an important Life Event by getting married yesterday! Now that, I hear you say, should be easy to undo but it hasn't worked out that way and already several messages of confused congratulations have rolled into my mailbox.
Downloading a profile photo also loomed up like the Thames Barrier and making the webcam work proved impossible so in despair I resorted to a strange photo of me in the kitchen standing before a cake of some kind....which I was obviously proud of because someone had been detailed to take the photo in the first place.
I haven't even started on Twitter but anyway I am giving up at this point and am heading downstairs for a gin and tonic instead!
