I have to say that dining at Italia Square at 100 Parnell Road is a
great deal more pleasing in every way than Cassia turned out to be. Ubiquitous slices of pork belly, as yet do
not seem to have invaded their menu and beef cheek is nowhere to be seen. Instead there is a range of fresh and tasty
pasta with a couple of meat and fish dishes thrown in for good measure along
with pizza of course. We’ve dropped by
a number of times for coffee since they opened a few weeks back and on three or
four occasions for late lunches or early dinners. We’ve
not been disappointed so far although the daughter visiting from London was
slightly regretful that the dessert menu was not offered and hard to locate, but
to be fair that might have been because of a shift change. Her escalope and salad type dish was more
diminutive than it might have been expected but then my gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce was
much larger than I had anticipated. She
was happy to help me out with it.
The sunny courtyard makes a pleasant place to while away an
hour or so and so far I would say that this newcomer to the area will keep
nearby establishments on their toes.
