Reflecting Upon Mark Lundy

Now that the dust is settling over Mark Lundy once again, and presumably he has been dragged, no doubt protesting loudly, back into prison, a time of reflection can begin.
I must say I was surprised by the second Guilty verdict.  I wouldn't have been game to have pronounced him so had I been one of the jurors.   Brain tissue on the polo shirt is all very well and in itself reeks of guilt - but where, one has to ask oneself, are the associated copious quantities of blood?
Scalp injuries are notorious for involving extensive bleeding but somehow Mark managed to hack his wife and child to death with a tomahawk type instrument whilst avoiding even a trace of it on his clothes, shoes, transferred to his car, etc - not a sign of the stuff.  Very odd indeed.
Now I would be the first to admit that he's not the most likeable murder accused you are likely to come across and I for one was put off him from the start by the overacting at the funeral.  His collapse into the arms of his friends was positively embarrassing.   But.......that does not actually inevitably point to him being a double murderer does it?  Let's be fair about this.
